Project Manager

Location: Wilmington, DE

Duration: 10+ Months

Job Summary

  • The Project Manager will manage and actively participate in multiple activity workstreams associated with daily support of and improvements to a State Unemployment System. Work within the newly formed PMO team handles daily business requests and performs recurring technical support tasks while working on all sizes of projects. In addition to these activities, the Project Manager will coordinate and actively participate in a series of initiative to quickly identify and identify/implement opportunities and system and process efficiencies. Experience working in/with agile methodologies, business workflow and process improvements.
  • The Project Manager will work with team members to document current state processes and support the steps modernize current systems, including support roadmap and business case.

Minimum Background and Skills:

  • Have 4-6 years of experience as a hands-on Project Manager with past exposure of working directly with business/IT/vendors to coordinating the documentation and collection of requirements.
  • Ability to create and/or improve system and business processes, workflows, roadmaps, and business cases.
  • Have experience with process improvement methodologies, techniques, and practices.
  • Have participated in system modernization and business reengineering efforts.
  • Accountable for delivery of all work tasks identified in the program plan.
  • Ensure all changes to scope follow processes and are documented.
  • Prepares status reports on a periodic basis for program team, team leads, group leads, and program manager and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop the detailed program plan for the enhancement or development effort
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple work efforts
  • Anticipate issues and proactively address them. Resolve conflicts with sensitivity and tact.
  • Notify team leads of project timelines, milestones, phases, work requests target dates, and approved executable work package.
  • Communicate and work with users and client senior management as necessary.
  • Ability to oversee, plan, direct, prioritize, assign, and monitor work activities
  • Ability to write clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to develop and implement procedural improvements and process changes.

Desired Background and Skills:

  • Experience within Corporate and Contracting project environments
  • PMI or Agile certification
  • Experience working with state Unemployment Compensation systems
  • Experience working on government projects
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, goals, and objectives of the unemployment compensation program.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines affecting the status of unemployment compensation benefits claims.
