Job Description

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for ensuring daily efficient, accurate, and timely inventory control operations. These operations include worker’s safety, inventory management, warehouse facility management, and ordering of materials for production. These operations also including distributions of finished goods, receiving materials that support the production schedule. The Materials Supervisor works under the parameters as defined by precedent, safety, quality, cost, and time constraints. The incumbent is expected to lead and direct associates in inventory control procedures, warehousing, distribution, and receiving. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of supporting operation and logistics – inventory, scheduling, and purchasing
  • Assist with ordering of raw/packaging materials for departments as needed
  • Assist in the efficient scheduling of personnel
  • Lead efforts to reconcile inventory going to and from production daily
  • Monitor operations to ensure inventory is properly handled in loading and unloading
  • Optimize the warehouse footprint
  • Assist with the department budget
  • Investigate and approve invoices for warehouse and production supplies
  • Assist with the supervision of the Material Handling staff including but not limited to performance management and employee development, etc.
  • Partner with business leaders on implementation of process improvement (Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation
  • Assist with process optimization and ordering organization to achieve company working capital targets
  • Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions
  • Lead the implementation of the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list to achieve targeted RCR
  • Other duties/improvement projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Management or a Management related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in warehouse and shipping functions in a manufacturing environment required
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of GMP and safe work practices
  • MRP experience preferred
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Knowledge in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Certified Train the Trainer for forklift
  • Detailed and meticulous with good organizational skills, with excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed deadlines, delegate and follow through
  • Demonstrated ability to react quickly to changing situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
