Director of Maintenance


This is a Contract position in Wilmington, DE posted October 16, 2021.

Location: Huntsville, AL Position Status: Full Time Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM.

Employees may need to adjust work hours during surge situations.

Brief Job Description: Manage all aspects of aircraft maintenance and ensure all work is scheduled and performed in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities: Duties will include management of the FAR 145/135 maintenance activities as well as regulatory compliance Effectively interfaces with FAA/DOT and customers for required and ongoing quality inspection Responsible for records upkeep and reporting as well as maintenance planning and scheduling Supervises maintenance staff, which includes reviewing employee performance, generating assignments and setting priorities.

Reviews and approves work orders regarding various aircraft systems.

Reads and interprets manufacturers’ and company’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Provides guidance and instruction to team members concerning technical orders, and checklists.

Responsible for maintaining equipment maintenance schedules on all company assets and monitoring parts and supply inventories.

Ensures availability of materials, anticipating requirements and reordering.

Performs other tasks as needed Education, Experience and Qualifications: Must have ten (10) years or more of aviation management experience; Previous DoM experience is strongly desired Must have A&P and IA Certificate Must meet FAR 119.71: Management Personnel Qualifications Must know and understand the regulatory requirements of FAR 135/145 Charter operations and repair Station Understanding of government programs and inspections a plus Helicopter experience strongly preferred Must have ability to work in a fast-paced team work environment Must be highly organized and thorough in performing duties and completing time sensitive projects Prior military service is a huge plus Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; A college degree in a related field is desired Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required Physical Requirements: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.

Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.

Walking moderate to long distances may be required.

Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull/move items frequently over 20 pounds.

Occasionally required to lift/carry/push/pull/move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: The environmental characteristic for this position is an aircraft hangar, warehouse setting, office setting and/or outdoors.

Candidates should be able to adapt to environments listed.

There may be momentary exposure to high noises, exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents, and Personal Protection Equipment may be required for certain tasks.

This position must be able to work comfortably outdoors and may be exposed to hot/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
