This is a Part-time position in Wilmington, DE posted October 11, 2021.

Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the Full Time Athletic Coordinator has delegated responsibility for developing, implementing, supervising and evaluating the Physical Fitness and Health Program for boys and girls ages 5 to 18 at the Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club.

They will be expected to run athletic programs for our Childcare kids, teen population and community at large.Essential Functions:Plan and execute all aspects of the intramural sports leagues in the summer and winter months.Plan and execute a summer and fall High School basketball league.Recruit volunteers, referees and coaches to assist with the successful execution of the athletic program.Work with Volunteer Director to register all volunteers.Oversee Part Time athletic staff by organizing their schedules and job responsibilities.Create and maintain a well-rounded, well-organized physical fitness program following the Youth Development Strategy.Develop, promote and stimulate participation in physical fitness for the childcare program that meet the objectives set by the Childcare DirectorDevelop, promote and stimulate participation in physical fitness for the teen drop in program that meet the objectives set by the Teen Director.Execute the athletic program and conduct yourself in a professional manner, supportive of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delawarepolicies and procedures.Work with other Directors in planning and operating club-wide activities.Assist in the guidance and discipline of club members while participating in athletic activities.Complete all administrative duties in a thorough and timely manner.Assure that the physical fitness areas and equipment is maintained in a safe and attractive manner.Assist in developing a positive identity for the Boys & Girls Clubs in the community.

Qualifications and Education RequirementsEducational Requirement:Eighteen (18) years of age or olderBachelor’s degree in physical education preferred.Must qualify for at least School Age Assistant levelKnowledge of various sports and games and how they affect different age groups.Ability to develop a positive self-image in Boys & Girls Club members.Demonstrated verbal and written competency.

He/she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by his/her supervisor.Work Hours:Monday-Friday, 2:00 to 10:00pm Flexibility to work weekends based upon business needs is required.
