Allied Printing: Production Planner

Allied Printing

This is a Contract position in Wilmington, DE posted November 23, 2021.

The Production Planner serves as a liaison between the client, sales and manufacturing functions, with overall responsibility for job planning and job technical engineering.

Ability to control job flow, checking schedules for printing, and essentially making sure that the product will be delivered at the given deadline and it meets the quality standards of both the company and the client.

Stays informed of status of all jobs at all times so inquiries can be readily answered and any problems can be addressed immediately.

Work with department managers and supervisors to oversee maintenance of an accurate production schedule for all operations, ensuring timely completion and delivery of jobs.

Collaborates with Estimating in devising layouts and production plans so that jobs are estimated according to best practices and processes.

Compare incoming jobs with the specifications on the estimate and notes any deviations so that the estimate and/or schedule can be revised.

Alerts Sales Representative and/or clients to production issues and assists in overseeing quality and accuracy of production.

Monitors production of proofs, their prompt delivery to customer and timely return for continuation of production process.

Maintains contact with customers as needed, occasionally assisting with press viewings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to Production Planner Manager.

Requirements: College Graduate preferred.

2-5 years of planning experience required.

Allied training: 6 – 9 months.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Physical Demands are as follows: Standing-40%, Walking-40%, Sitting-20%, Lifting 5-50 lbs.-Occasionally, Carrying 25-50 lbs.

Print management and the ability to work accurately and methodically under pressure are required.

High level of communication is needed, as the production planner is the link between the shop floor and management.

Thorough knowledge of printing process required.

Good knowledge of color, design, job planning and scheduling.

Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, take direction from superiors and follow company procedure.

Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Teamwork, energy level, productivity, quality focus, self-motivated, organization, time management, attendance and attention to detail.
