This is a Full-time position in Dover, DE posted May 22, 2021.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Wentworth-Douglass, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Women and Children Service Line will be responsible for clinical and business operations for Maternal Childrens Health, Pediatric Service Line and CHaD. The AVP must be able to influence operational performance improvement initiatives including, but not limited to, length of stay reduction, patient satisfaction, throughput and efficiency. He/She actively supports and promotes patient safety, continuous performance and quality improvement, risk management and efficient resource utilization. Management of financials for the service line. Management of quality and compliance in the service line. Complies with National Patient Safety Goals and relative TJC and CMS standards. Management of patient experience throughout the continuum of care for service line patients. Strategic alignment with organizational strategic plan.

Finance and Budget: Manages financials for the service line.

  • Achieves financial targets for service line.
  • Assists with negotiating contracts to meet organizational benchmarks.
  • Leads negotiations and implementation of clinical contracts including affiliations.
  • Achieves referral targets volume and growth.

Quality: Manages quality and compliance in the service line.

  • Achieves SL quality performance targets.
  • Defines SL Clinical Quality Metrics with clinical SL leaders.
  • Develops/implements measurable process to insure that all regulatory compliance is achieved.

Compliance: Complies with National Patient Safety Goals and relevant TJC and CMS standards, other accreditation’s.

  • Maintains accreditation compliance for all program components and activities at each system entity are met.
  • Maintains all appropriate policies and procedures to insure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Patient Experience: Oversees management of patient experience throughout the continuum of care for service line patients.

  • Defines and updates service targets.
  • Achieves PG targets.
  • Identifies and develops plans to address future trends in clinical care for the service line.

Strategic Planning: Maintains strategic alignment with organizational strategic plan.

  • Develops and implements marketing strategy.
  • Develops SL strategic plan to meet WDH aims and goals, aligned with SLRP.

Departmental Operations: Manages departmental operations and cost centers.

  • Negotiates and implements related contracts.
  • Achieves productivity benchmark.
  • Develops/implements measurable processes to insure that all regulatory compliance is achieved.
  • Achieves service targets.
  • Defines and updates service targets.
  • Achieves PG targets.
  • Identifies and develops plans to address future trends in clinical care for the department.
  • Utilizes IS functionality to achieve financial, quality, patient experience and strategy targets.
  • Develops and implements marketing strategy.

Experience Minimum Required

  • Seven (7) years experience in healthcare administration including business strategy & operations, patient experience, quality and relevant clinical background
  • BSN, MSN or higher in a clinical, healthcare administration or related field.
