Nurse Practitioner

Lotus Recovery Centers

This is a Full-time position in Wilmington, DE posted September 22, 2021.

The Nurse Practitioner – Addiction Services is responsible for providing health services through advance nursing practice in addiction and integrated mental health services, as needed. He/she ensures the Work is performed with considerable independence and in accordance with established regulations, policies, procedures and standards of advanced nursing practice. Ensures all programs services are responsive to the community needs, are of the highest quality care, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
Conduct comprehensive physical/mental health assessments and evaluations on all new admissions, as specialty area indicates.  Complete advanced nursing assessment based on accepted standards.  Create a plan for medical/health services throughout the duration of client’s treatment.  Work collaboratively with clinic case management team to ensure continuity of care.  Foster efficient and effective utilization of existing medical resources to prevent fragmentation and duplication of services.  Provide extensive and focused health/mental health education for clients, tailoring the information and approach to the needs of the population served.  Provide individual/group counseling and education in areas of medical/clinical/health needs.  Provide professional in-service training and education to staff.  Create and maintain thorough and comprehensive medical/health related files on clients served.  Maintain working area within appropriate and relevant regulatory guidelines, including medication handling and storage.  Assist in facilitation of special events as required.  Prescribe and evaluate the effectiveness of controlled substances such as methadone, buprenorphine and Vivitrol in the context of an opioid treatment facility, primary care practice, or intensive care facility.  Support and demonstrate adherence to Lotus Healthcare Groups’ Code of Ethics and Conduct and all personnel policies and procedures  Maintain appropriate professional certificates and credentials  Other duties as required/assigned by supervisor and/or the Medical Director. 
 

Education, Experience and Qualifications 
Maryland or Delaware RN License; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field or Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field or completion of an approved school of professional nursing, plus training and certification in an area of advanced practice.

This may include an approved Nurse Practitioner program, advanced Clinical Specialist standing or other advanced practice certification   5+ years of experience in the health care field with at least two years in drug and alcohol addiction  License to prescribe controlled substances such as methadone and buprenorphine  Experience providing services within large-scale outpatient programs and /or MAT  Management experience overseeing the work of other clinicians is a plus.  Experience with developing an outpatient behavioral health practice  May be required to submit to post offer, annual, post-offer, pre-placement physical examination and drug testing 
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
Knowledge of specific health care issues pertaining to drug and alcohol abusers  Knowledge of current relevant advanced nursing practice issues and standards  Knowledge of record keeping requirements, as well as other regulations of entities having responsibility for licensing, approving and credentialing the program served  Knowledge of physical and mental health issues of the subculture served  Knowledge and skills relevant to the area of advanced nursing practice  Knowledge of the specialized population/area of service  Knowledge of the external network of resources needed  Ability to perform highly specialized and advanced nursing assessment and practice  Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships within and outside of?the agency   Ability to exercise professional judgment at the level of clinical excellence and advanced practice  Ability to assess and develop educational programs for the needs of clients and staff  Willingness to “roll up one’s sleeves” and embrace the nitty gritty, bottom up task of building an organization and implementing a new model  Personal and professional track record that demonstrates a commitment to quality   A positive attitude: ability to work hard, have fun, and operate efficiently in a fast paced, start up, work environment and in a highly complex and dynamic organization  Ability to adapt and respond to complex, fast paced, rapid growth/results-oriented environment  Fact based, operationally focused personality  Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
