Medical Office Receptionist, Full Time

This is a Contract position in Rehoboth Beach, DE posted November 24, 2021.

Overview:

The Delaware Eye Surgery Center has been providing superior eye care services to the community for over 15 years. We are currently seeking to add a Full Time Medical Receptionist with experienced secretarial skills to our friendly, professional and dedicated team.
Eyecare Services Partners will now only consider candidates who can verify prior to hire that they either have been fully vaccinated against the Covid 19 virus or have started the vaccine process by having their initial dose before starting in their new position and are committed to completing that process within 30 days of starting work. Exemptions for medical and religious concerns will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes and greets all the visitors, in person or over the phone
  • Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
  • Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
  • Assist with service calls on office equipment (copier and faxes, etc.)
  • Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended
  • Accepts incoming deliveries and disburses them to the appropriate department

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years clerical experience including computer skills, experience in medical office or hospital setting preferred.
  • Must have an ADVANCED skill set with Excel and Word programs
  • Must have the ability to establish confidence and trust with patients.
  • Must have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress.
  • Have the ability to provide excellent customer service, communication, telephone and grammar skills.
  • Must have an empathetic and compassionate manner.
  • Prefer one or more years experience working in a medical position where patient contact was required.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans is helpful.
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform as part of a team as well as work independently.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
