Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a full-time,12-month, non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor / Teaching Associate Professor, Program Evaluation
– Las Vegas.

This position will be located in Clark County, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Teaching Assistant Professor / Teaching Associate Professor, Program Evaluation will conduct policy relevant program evaluations and train others to design and implement program evaluations.

The faculty will incorporate input from and collaborate with community leaders, organizations, agencies, stakeholders as well as Extension faculty, staff and other Nevada System of Higher Education colleagues.

This position will provide a range of quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches and research designs, analysis, tools for program measurement and community based participatory research methods.

The incumbent will provide in-service education internally and provide training to a variety of external entities.

 The incumbent will improve Extension program delivery and increase public accountability, positioning us for new revenues.

This position will help demonstrate the value of Extension programs to funders, policy makers, and the general public.

This requires outcomes assessment of programs, demonstrating not just what we do but the public value we create as part of the land grant mission.

The incumbent assists in writing grant proposals in the areas of needs assessment and evaluation methods and seeks out extramural funding to support their teaching programs and research.

The incumbent will pursue a rigorous research agenda leading to publications and presentations that will add to and enhance the body of knowledge in evaluation best practices. 

Required Qualifications

Teaching Assistant Professor / Teaching Associate Professor
– Terminal degree in Evaluation, Analytics, Economics, or other closely related field.

Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Extension programming.

Experience in population-based programming in urban community settings.

Experience in assessing/determining community needs.

Experience in developing community relationships with advocacy, citizen and coalition groups, stakeholders, university faculty, and other community groups.

Experience supervising staff, managing staff, managing budgets and administrative duties.

Experience in writing and publication of scholarly work related to Evaluation, reporting and impact/outcome education.

Experience using digital and social media related to community programming.
